In the beginning, there was darkness.
In the end, there will only be darkness.
Nothing is will be waiting for us. It will be over.
Imagine that people are only given one chance at life.
Have you seen a resurrected historical figure walking around?
Have you heard any evidence that our thoughts — our souls — continue on after death?
That’s because when we die. That’s it. We’re done.
There is some evidence, however, that our bodies and those of all living beings are only fleshy machines made for the only reason to produce more genes.
This is a simple image of our lives.
And I have to admit: it is unfortunate that a lot of us have such horrible lives. We live terrible nightmares. Some are so short that it makes the rest of us wonder why. We hope that their precious existence was not lost by mistake. We imagine that they go somewhere where we can see them once again.
Our purpose is to struggle through the life and make your contribution to society.
After your life is over, your legacy is all that will remain.
Our bare, naked bodies will start decay and our temporary consciousness will eventually dissolve but others in the future will use our stored knowledge — our contribution — for their own eventual struggle.
There is no answer yet. Just 200 years ago there was no electricity and no pictures.
